2018 Accord Hybrid sales to start this week

The new Accord Hybrid will be available to purchase beginning Friday.

Honda’s all-new 2018 Accord Hybrid is set to arrive in dealer showrooms on March 23. The new Accord Hybrid boasts more cabin space than its predecessor, along with a lower price tag.

The Accord Hybrid will be available in five different trim levels, up from three previously. Available trim levels include Hybrid, EX, EX-L, EX-L Navi and Touring. The Hybrid trim carries a base price of just $25,100, representing a $4,505 reduction from the previous Accord Hybrid model.

Despite its lower price point, the 2018 Accord Hybrid still comes well equipped with standard features like LED exterior lights, push button start, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and traffic sign recognition. For those looking for a fully-loaded vehicle, the 2018 Accord Hybrid Touring will carry a base price of $34,710. All prices exclude a $890 destination fee.

All Accord Hybrid models are powered by a 2.0L four-cylinder engine paired to a two-motor hybrid system. Total system output is 212 horsepower and 232 lb-ft of torque. Fuel economy ratings across the board are 47/47/47 city/highway/combined.

Honda is hopeful that the Hybrid will help jump start Accord sales. Despite winning several prestigious awards — including North American Car of the Year — Accord sales have been slumping so far this year. Year-over-year sales are down nearly 13 percent and in February sales were off by 15.8 percent.
