Maxim Ride-hailing Analysis: How Often Users Order E-hailing In A Week

E-hailing services are becoming increasingly popular among Thais, with more people relying on them for daily commutes and errands. As urban mobility evolves, Maxim’s analytics team examined user habits in 2024, revealing key insights into ride frequency, preferred services, and spending patterns.
According to the data, 49% of active users book rides twice a week, while 39% use the service once a week. Meanwhile, 10% book between three to six rides weekly, and a small but dedicated 1% use Maxim more than seven times a week. Most rides originate from public spaces, transportation hubs, and workplaces, heading toward residential areas. Regular users often commute across various parts of the city.
Among service options, the car service is used for 53% of rides, making it the most popular, due to their comfort. Motorbikes make up 41% of trips because their speed and flexibility make them suited for short journeys in cities. While the remaining 5% consists of other services.
Maxim underlines affordability, with most users keeping their weekly ride expenses low. According to the data, 59% spend up to 50 THB per week, 36% spend up to 250 THB, and only 13% exceed that amount. On average, users spend approximately 108 THB per week. These figures indicate that the service generally fits within modest weekly transportation budgets. For office workers with an average salary of 25,000 THB, this spending accounts for about 1.7% of their income, making it a practical choice for daily commutes.

Beyond affordability, e-hailing services are transforming urban mobility in Thailand. In congested cities like Bangkok, these platforms provide a practical alternative to private car ownership, easing traffic flow and lowering emissions.
“I use Maxim about three to six times a week, mainly for commuting between work and home. It’s convenient and saves me the trouble of parking. It also helps me avoid traffic and gives me more time to relax or get ready for the next day,” said Kitiya Ratanasuntarakorn, a Maxim user in Bangkok.
“The data shows a shift in urban mobility, with many users relying on Maxim for their daily commutes. We are continuously refining our services to meet modern consumer needs while also addressing issues like traffic congestion and carbon emissions.” said Mr. Pongpath Aksaraworakarn, Executive of Maxim Thailand. “But it’s not just about the big cities, we’re also paying special attention to smaller cities where public transportation is limited, and we’re doing our part to make a difference” He added.
