Mazda prices upgraded MX-5 Miata RF ahead of August arrival


Mazda has announced pricing and availability details for the 2019 MX-5 Miata RF, including the Grand Touring and Club variants.

The upgraded Miata now starts at $33,240 (including $895 freight) for the Club package with a six-speed manual transmission, marking an increase of $435 over the 2018 model year. The Grand Touring trim now starts at $34,230, adding $585 to the previous price.

Engineers have revised the Skyactiv-G 2.0-liter engine to deliver 181 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 151 pound-feet of torque at 4,000 rpm, up 26 ponies and 3 pound-feet. The engine produces more torque throughout its rev range and boasts a 700-rpm higher redline.

Drivers are also treated to a standard tilt/telescoping steering column, a new standard rearview camera, available traffic sign recognition and optional low-speed automatic emergency braking.

The 2019 MX-5 Miata RF will land in US showrooms next month.
