Going back to the original Quattro introduced in 1980, Audi has been a major pioneer in the use of permanent 4WD, or AWD, as a performance feature. For that reason, it’s something of a surprise to see them go a different route with this limited edition edition R8.
The RWS stands for Rear Wheel Series, and the rear wheel drive in conjunction with the naturally aspirated V10 and lower weight (3505 lbs for the Coupe, 110 less than the AWD R8) makes it a ride for sports car purists. It is available in both Coupe and Spyder variants.
